Proud Dads

We spend quite a lot of time focusing on the mother when we think and talk about babies. We think it is high time to concentrate on Dad.

Hopefully you and your partner are extremely happy with the birth of your new little arrival. We are also just as sure that the past nine months have been no easy feat for you either. Being hormonal your partner has probably not been the easiest person to live with ( no offence ladies ).

You will have a new addition now to look after and probably absolutely no clue as to how to. Money will have been spent like water getting ready for the new arrival.

Changes will have been going on that means a sad goodbye to life as you have known it. Good but strange new things are happening for you at home.

Now you have a new addition to the family it will be all hands on deck, and you will have to muddle through the best you can. Especially if this is your first baby. Hopefully you will have some relatives or friends that can help you, guide you through the first few months of your little one’s life. It will take time to adapt to everything – but the great news is you will, and you will never ever want it to be the same again. This we guarantee!!

While your partner is pregnant, read as many books as you can on the subject, and talk to mums and dads, get as much advice as you can. Every little helps as they say. You can’t buy experience, but self help books and family can be of a huge importance to you.

We understand after a full day at work you will be tired, but so will your partner. Try to remain kind to each other. Losing your tempers and shouting at each other will resolve nothing, and just make a bad situation worse.

Children are a blessing, enjoy them. Even the sleepless nights will stop eventually.

In today’s world there is so much help out there for new parents, disposable nappies, disposable milk bottles, ready made foods in jars, everything makes life just that little bit easier than it was many years ago. Automatic washing machines. The list goes on, but you will find it won’t take long to get into a routine, that is the most important thing to do, and then the running of your home and your health and happiness will all fall into place.
