Getting Started

In this section we would like to help out and give you some free advice. Hopefully before getting pregnant it would be a really good idea if you think things through properly before you decide now is the time for a baby. You need to ask yourselves a few basic questions first.

1.  The relationship you are in – is it stable, loving and secure?

2.   Although this one is tough have you been putting a little aside for a baby? They are very costly when you first start out.

3.   If not then we suggest you budget for a few months first.

4.   Have you got a proper home – not a 1 bedroom flat etc.

If everything seems fine then great! If you honestly have any thoughts niggling you then we would strongly suggest you wait a while, until you know it is now the right time.

Once you are pregnant with your first child we would suggest you start to make a list of everything you are going to need. Choose which room in the house is going to be the nursery. Decorate it however you want to. Then keep it clean and make your purchases of the cot and all the other things you are going to need later down the line. Around the 8 months mark. Just in case (god forbid ) anything goes wrong.

Take good care of the new mum to be. Plenty of rest and no lifting heavy things. If you can afford it good organic food, if not just the best you can.

Vitamins and supplements don’t forget those.

Books on babies, getting started and bringing them up and babies names. You will need all of these.

Have a good natter with relatives, they will be delighted to help out where they can.

Read up on the labour as well. You don’t want any nasty surprises. For armed is for warned.

Make sure your 1st child is born in hospital just in case.

It is not all about you, the reason we are giving out this advice is also for the benefit of the baby.
