Babies Toys

These can be found in our basic range collection. Although we do not actually go to town in a big way with toys because companies like Toys R Us etc are so good at what they do that we do not try to rival them.

If a rep comes in to us and just happens to show us the odd babies toy that being on the fussy side we actually think is safe and good enough, then we will try it – but all reps be warned, no rubbish here!

Babies toys just have to be safe – it is essential and just as important or more so really than the function of the toy itself as far as we are concerned. So that is why we don’t do more than dabble in this area.

We totally know our market when you are talking about babies clothing, but toys is dodgy.

In our opinion you are either a toy shop or a clothing shop, nothing else inbetween. Department stores go in for both, but they are big big time and we are not – we do not have the storage capablities like they do. You should see John Lewis’s warehouse at Park Royal just outside North London, it is like a football pitch double! They can afford to sell a wide variety as they have the space, that is the one thing we are sadly lacking here and so when purchasing new stock we prefer to go with  babies clothing rather than toys, as to be honest you can pick these items are anywhere.

Babies Toys

This is a very small select category for us, we do not like to feature toys very heavily. The main reason for this is the dangers. You have to be so careful with toys for your little one, they put everything into their mouths, and generally pull the ears of things and the last thing we would want is any accidents.

We vet everything in the clothing line before we purchase it, but the standard on clothing is pretty high in the industry, but with toys it is a whole different kettle of fish.

You can buy some really nice, cute, soft little plush toys for baby, but the eyes have only been glued on etc. We have struggled to find really superior quality toys.

Now we have with the top brands like Grund etc. BUT we do not like the prices much less how much we would have to charge you the paying customer for them. We just don’t feel comfortable getting into this area.

We could always go in for the Fisher Price sort of toys that are made of hard plastic, but there are so many other companies in the high street and shopping centre plus on the web already that have gone in for this type of thing in a big way that we could not compete.

Therefore we only choose to dabble in a few select little styles that compliment our clothing – but technically we can offer a toy if that is something that would be of any interest to you.
