Scratch Mittens
These are about as basic an item as you could ask for, but they are an essential when it comes to looking after your newborn baby. A lot of babies when they are born come into this world with long and uneven finger nails. Obviously they are far too small and little to start doing manicures to them so for the first few months you have to leave them alone. However when they rub their little eyes and faces they can very easily scratch and hurt themselves with their fingernails, which is why scratch mittens are invaluable.
Being made of soft cotton they are so usefuland practical. You get 2 pairs in a pack which represents excellent value for money but you will need several pairs even so.
It is very surprising how many shops up and down the country do not bother to stock such small and cheap items. We here consider these little items essential to the well being of your newborn and don’t understand at all.
We have come to the conclusion that the average shop is just after the biggest penny when it comes to selling and do not bother with the lesser items.

These items are indespensible for your newborn. Many shops in local high streets and in new shopping centres don’t bother to carry this sort of item. We cannot understand why ( except they are so cheap perhaps they don’t think there is not enough money to be made in stocking them ). They are an absolute must for any brand new baby in our opinion.
99% of all babies born scratch their little faces and delicate parts of their bodies when they are first born, and these soft cotton little pull on mitts are perfect for protecting their delicate skin and eyes for the first few weeks while they adjust to their new environment.
We have and always will stock them. They are a real must as far as we are concerned.
We have managed to hunt around and now you can buy them in colours if you want to match your babies wardobe.
If you are expecting and don’t want to know what sex of baby you are going to have we have them available in either white or cream with a little motif on – the choice is yours.
They come in a pack with 2 pairs in it so they are very reasonable to buy. Being made of soft cotton there will be a certain amount of shrinkage so we would advise you purchase 2 or 3 packs because you don’t want to have to pay postal charges twice and as we already stated not everywhere chooses to sell them.

These come in our baby basics range. They are not something to get excited about but they are extremely useful. Once you have your beautiful new bundle to look after you will want to do everything you can for them for the best right from the off. Scratch mittens are so useful. Quite a lot of babies when they are born have quite long fingernails and of course they are jagged.
You can hardly give them a manicure when they are so tiny – you will have to wait a while before you can start looking after their nails properly.
That is where scratch mittens come in handy. Made from soft pure cotton they are suitable from birth and when baby gets fussy and tries to mess with it’s face the mittens stop it from being able to scratch it’s self.
If the face of your baby is scratched at birth and quite a few babies do come out like that then these will heal quite quickly, but the mittens act like little soft cotton gloves and stop any more harm being done until around the 3 months mark, by then they should be a lot better and you can leave this item off.
They are strictly suitable for newborn babies but very useful and cheap to purchase as well.

These are essential for your precious little bundle. Once you have had your baby – on the average most babies are born with long finger nails and nearly always very sharp and uneven. Being so young you had hardly do a manicure on them. So for the first 3 months of their lives we strongly recommend scratch mittens for them.
New born babies have a tendany to rub their little faces and will generally tend to be a bit fussy, irratable it is just their way of adapting to being here.
Unfortunately without some form of protection they will scratch themselves particuarly on their faces and mark themselves, although these are not permanent just little scratches no-one wants to see that. They will be like this for a few weeks so we suggest scratch mittens.
They are like little cotton gloves, and our manufacturer came up with the clever but simple idea of making the wrist elasticated so they can’t come off – babies love to pull everything off, and yet at the same time they are not restricting at all.
Being made of pure cotton is essential. They are lovely and soft, and are basically a necessity.
They are very reasonably priced, and you get 2 pairs in a packet. Good value for money as well. We would advise you purchase a few packets though – as you will need these for the first 3 months.
