For the last few years we have been in a recession and all that goes with it. No one has any money to spend much and it is all accounted for paying the bills to keep the roof over your head and to put food – which is cheaper as everyone is hunting for shops own brands etc. and we understand this.

Our concern though comes on this level. We all only get one life and when we are growing up and developing those years are crucial to the rest of our lifetime. We want the very best for your baby in order to give them a good solid foundation on which to build for the future.

In other words strong bones, nice skin, strong teeth things like that. Good eyesight all these things are so important and please this is only our opinion we think that your little ones need the very best so when you are buying the family food ( and hopefully this goes for the adults as well ) try to purchase branded items and save money on things that are not so important, like the kitchen cleaners and toilet rolls and items that you use round the house.

Not on the main food that you are going to dish up for mealtimes. This is only our opinion you understand as we only care about our customers and want the best for both you and baby!

At this particular time in the world it seems we are all very worried and focused on money. This is understandable given the way things have been for the past few years, what with a recession and everything.

Although there are many items that you either not buy at all, luxuries etc. there are items that you just cannot get away from no matter how much you try and the food and nourishment you give your little one is paramount and although all the best big supermarkets offer discounts on all the major brands which is fab, we urge you to make sure that your little one is getting everything they need for their development.

You only have one shot at this. While they are growing up and developing their little bones and teeth etc. you must be giving them all their nutrition.

We do not sell food – so as you can see we are not makiing any money off of this idea.

We are just generally concerned for the health and wellbeing of your baby and of course yourself, and all we want is happy and healthy babies.

Where possible buy people own brands, but on food items we urge you to purchase the best well know brands which are the best and contain everything that your little one needs for the development.

We all know to well how tight everyone’s finances are at the moment, and have been for quite some time now, but the welfare of your little one is paramount in every way and must come right up there with paying all the bills!

Try to stay away from supermarkets own brands, and really cheap low budget food and drink and milks and purchase only the better known top quality one’s.

We have no axe to grind in saying this, as we do not sell baby foods.

It is just the welfare of your little one that we are most concerned about and that is all!

We know that branded items will cost more, but particularly in regards to food and drink it is very important that they get the right amount of goodness.

You can save money on baby wipes, talcum powder and disposable nappies, there are many ways you can save money but actual food and drink we would strongly urge you not to try and cut corners.

Once their little bones are starting to grow you want to encourage them to be big and strong so they need all the really good key ingredients so that this can be achieved.

We would like to take a few moments of your time to discuss food. With the cost of everything shooting through the roof lately it is hard for any family to keep tthe running costs of all the household bills down.

However, we know we really really do how hard it it but your baby/toddler or childrens development is vital at this crucial time, and all we ask is that when you are purchasing your baby food, or making your own or whatever option you choose to do please make sure they get the very best that you can afford to do.

Of course yours is equally important, but their growing bones and developmental stage is so vitally important and you can never get this time back again.

So, if it is humanly possible please do your best to give them organic produce to eat, or at least fresh fruit and vegetables, whether they are pureed or just eaten normally whatever, their health is the number one priority.

Yours is too of course, you getting run down and ill won’t help them much will it!! It is just that you hear such horror stories from some people who would even put the dogs food first above the childrens, and here with us we think think is so very wrong.

At the moment we are all feeling the pinch. Trying to get over Xmas and all the spending we have all been doing lately. Bills arriving on the mat that we don’t particularly want to see but have to face it is hard on everyone during the months of January and February most years, but it seems particularly hard this year.

Everyone is scouring round the sales and we don’t blame them for a minute, why not try and save some money where you can…

The one place that you should not cut down on too much is food for both you and your little one. A dear friend of mine once said to me your health is your wealth and that is so ery true. Make sure you are getting a balanced diet. 3 square meals a day etc. and of course baby and children come first. They must get all the goodness they need as they are growing and developing and they only get the chance to do this once in their entire lives, so you cannot take short cuts with their health and nourishment.

Organic food is best – but whatever you decide to give them make sure they are getting the best that you can do for them. Their little bones will only develop and grow once – so they need all the calcium and vitamins possible to make sure their little bodies grow and develop as strongly as possible – this is one area where we personally consider you cannot take any short cuts. Don’t forget about your health either, look after you to.

At this time of the year we are looking forward to eating more food and drinking wine and beer etc. Your baby is not quite old enough yet to indulge – but we would strongly recommend against stuffing their faces anyway! When bringing up baby it needs a lot of thought about how to go about it, and basically their diet is most important. Plenty of fresh food, not ready made junk meals, lots of drinks and if you can manage it then organic food is by far the best, although we do appreciate that is costs 3 times as much as the normal food does. It is grown in such a way, and is packed with goodness that is why we advocate it so much.

If we could we all need to eat that way, but it is not very practical, so babies and toddlers first.

Why not encourage your toddler to help you in the spring and summer months to grow their own vegetables in a little area of the garden that they can call their own. That way they get so much pleasure out of it, and of course they will enjoy things more when they are eating their own home grown produce.

This is something we all can do – it works out quite cheap, and is packed full of goodness at the same time. Can’t be a bad thing can it?

Now that the weather is turning a lot colder, we all have to start to make changes in our dietery requirements. Make sure that your baby/toddler is getting enough of the right nutrionents. If you are not sure what is the right amount, ask your midwife, nurse, GP or go online and do a bit of research. There are millions of sites that will offer you free advice for nearly everything to do with baby and their needs.

Make sure if they are eating solids that they get plenty of fruit and vegetables. Yes we know they don’t usually like vegetables, but do your best.

Try not to let them snack on junk food, crisps, chocolate and other such products.

Make sure that both you and your family are getting the right sort of diet. It doesn’t have to cost a fortune either, if you are careful. Look for special offers in the supermarkets. Buy fruit and veg that is in season.

Tinned goods are fine as well, or frozen it doesn’t matter how you consume it just as long as you do.

We are the first to admit that Fish and Chips or Kentucky Fried Chicken taste great! However, they really are not that good for you or your family, so try to resist the temptation if you can.

If you have a baby on milk – then make sure that they get fruit juice to drink and water. Don’t buy the cheapest unknown brands available either, try to go for the top brands, this should ensure that baby is getting enough of their daily RDA of goodness.

We would like to take a moment to discuss your babies Nutrition. As the economy is so bad at the moment everyone is making cuts and we are as well, it is really necessary in this day and age.

However, food is the one area that we urge you to be careful in. Please try to make sure that you and your little one are getting enough vitamins and minerals, in babies case they only have those early years once, and this is the one and only chance you get to make sure that they are eating right. Stint in other ways – but not when it comes to their meals. Buy branded food, make sure they are getting everything they need to develop strong bones and teeth and grow beautifully. They are like a flower – they need lots of love and attention and nurturing and vitamins and minerals to stay in good health.

If you are concerned about any health issues or have nay queries, then you should get in touch with your GP or nurse and make sure that you get everything sorted out.

We can take vitamin supplements to make sure we are getting enough of everything, but this is not really practical for baby.

Organic food is the best if you can afford it.

We don’t want you to bankrupt yourselves, just make sure that your little one is going to grow up big and strong that’s all we want!

In this article we would like to take the time to talk to you folks out there about food. There are so many brands on the market today. Organic, ordinary, make your own, all the regular brands that having been going for years, the choice is yours.

The one thing that you are sure of is that they have changed all the flavours and recipies and added loads of vitamins for your little one – so you know that he or she is getting the right amount of goodness.

If you decide to go the make it yourself way then just make sure you use the best ingredients so that baby is not going without those vital nutrients.

Feeding baby has never been easier – or perhpas more expensive but that goes with territory – nobody says that having a baby is going to be cheap!

If you are still at the milk stage then you again will be spoilt for choice out there as there are so many manufacturers out there for you to choose from – just let your baby decide, they will soon let you know if they are happy or not with their food and milk. Don’t forget to give them fruit juice with plenty of water at this time of the year to. Babies need more than just milk!

Once you bring baby home from the hospital if you can it is advisable, as we are sure you have already been told by everyone that you should breastfeed your baby, if you can. This is not for everyone. Due to health reasons, or maybe that you simply do not feel comfortable with it.

If you do not breastfeed then you will need to put your baby on one of the many milks available on the market now. This will make sure baby is getting all it’s vitamins and minerals as it should be.

Do not forget to give them juice as well. People sometimes forget this – they need water as well as milk ( millk turns in the stomach more to a food so they need water – as we all do ).

Then once they get around the 4 months mark you need to start introducing solids. There are tons of brands about – or you can make your own. There is organic products or ordinary and so many manufacturers now have their products in the supermarkets that you should soon begin to settle down to what baby does and doesn’t like.

Try to include fruity puddings – you need to try and get as varied a diet as possible for baby – as early in life that you can.

This way they are sure to be getting their vitamins and minerals without you worrying.

During this time they will start teething! Urg this is a horrible stage, so remember to keep something in the cupboard like rusks so they have something to gnash on when they feel the need. Remember at this stage they will be techy……. and we mean this not lightly!

By the time they are walking and talking eating should be all sorted out, and you will have a complete rundown on their likes and dislikes.

You cannot do anything wrong in the early stages, so don’t worry. If baby doesn’t like something fine – try another product instead, you will find out what they like and not like in know time so don’t fret.
