Once you have found out you are expecting you have the wonder of the next nine months to look forward to. These can be great – wobbly or – rubbish, it all dependson how each individual women carries.

When you have gone through labour and the baby has arrived you will not know what has hit you, in a wonderful way we mean. You will be tired obviously and with sleepless nights to look forward to just that bit more we are afraid, but it is not all doom and gloom, your new addition is a wonderful thing and you will get so much happiness from them so really it should be something that you look forward to.

Once you have bought everything that you need, chosen the name, and come home from the hospital this is when it starts to get interesting.

First things first you should adopt a routine as fast as you can, then this should help both you and baby to settle in faster .

Hopefully with a bit of luck your baby will not be too difficult – they should give you so much joy.

With a good routine going you are well on the way to a solid foundation, which is the golden key.

We are always here to help, so if you don’t have a lot of family or friends to ask or to help you out, then why not drop us a line. We are here to help you with any question or queries you may have.

Next subject is Baby Clothes and Baby Gift Sets and Baby Gro’s

Once you have found out you are expecting, and the first few months have passed. As you progress in your pregnancy hopefully you will start to experience the feeling that you are blooming with good health. At this stage you can start to concentrate on the huge task ahead of you – preparing for the arrival of this special little bundle.

Once you have reached the six months stage we would advise that you start buying everything that you need for your little one.

We do understand how expensive everything is, and if you are choosy about your purchases you can try to keep the cost to a minimum. The first time is the most expensive – obviously. If you have more children later on you will have a head’s up so to speak in every way.

We have already covered the ground in clothing in previous chapters with regards to the quantities that we consider you will need of the basic requirements in bedding and clothing.

As regards equipment, we think it is pretty obvious, you will need one of everything to start with. We would advise not to be talked into every little thing (even though the sales assistant in the shops with try). Just sit down at home and make a sensible list between the two of you as to what you consider you are going to really need.

Then go out and purchase only those items. Try not to buy anything that is not on the list.

If at a later date you feel you really need some of the items that you had seen earlier, then you can always buy them at a later date.

With the cost of everything nowadays, and it probably always was very expensive years ago, you can always add more, but you will find the cost can spiral out of control quite quickly.

Years ago there was not the amount of items on sale for babies.

Now the market is endless. Unfortuantely the purse is not.

Next topic for discussion will be on Baby Clothes and Baby Gro

We would like to talk to you today on Nutrition. For the first few months you will obviously be giving your new baby milk. However around the 4 – 5 months area ( every baby is slightly different ) you will need to start introducing solids. Your baby will begin teething around now, so you can give them Farley Biscuits or something equivalent for them to suck and chew on to help get those first toothy pegs through… and give you a bit of peace from the crying and sleepless nights.

Now is also the time to try solids. Start slowly at first. Most of the major brands have a fantastic selection try Cow and Gate or Heinz they are the best ones out there. A lot of new mothers like to make their own. Fine, cook whatever takes your fancy, blend it down to a fine pasty liquid ( strain out any bits to start with – then leave them in as baby adapts ) and they will be getting nothing but the purest and finest of healthy foods.

Most of the major brands pack all kinds of vitamins in them so you don’t have to worry on that score.

Make sure you include fruit in their diet. Either tiny pieces of actual fruit or fruit juices to drink.

Our next topic will be Baby Clothes, Baby Bedding, Baby Gowns and Baby Gift Sets.

We would like to take this opportunity to talk to you about something that is in the press at the moment. The subject unfortunately is the Measles. It goes without saying that you will be seeing your Doctor and Nurse quite often for the first few years of your little one’s life.. Obviously you will be kept informed when it is time for them to have their jabs. The rise in childrens illness is very important.

We cannot stress enough that all new mums and dads should have their children immunised at the correct stage in their lives. If you are not comfortable with having the MMR jab – then obviously you should talk this over with your GP. However, it is entirely your decision, but we strongly advise that you have your child vaccinated - perhaps you would prefer to do it singly with regard to measles, mumps and rubella but you really should have the jabs.

The last thing any parent wants to see is their child suffering, and some of these illnesses can be very nasty. Not every child takes them lightly. It is especially important for a baby – it would be no joke if a child under 1 year caught any of these illnesses.

We hope you have found this advice helpful – always ask your GP if you are worried or concerned about anything to do with the health of your baby.

In our next chapter we will be talking to you about Baby Clothes.

Teething is the subject we would like to talk to you about. These are very difficult times for both you and baby. Baby will start teething at around the 6 month time. They will be grouchy and touchy for up to two months while they are cutting a milk tooth. The gums will become red and swollen and your baby will probably have a slightly raised temperature as well. This is nothing to be concerned about, it is all part of the teething process. It can take up to 3 years before your little one has all of its 20 pearly white milk teeth. So as you can tell you are in for the long haul.

You can rub products on babies gums to try and help them, or give them a liquid pain killer like Calpol etc. there are quite a few brands on the market, this should help them for a few days just to get over the really bad few days.

Things should calm down after 2 -3 days. Always seek medical advice if you have any serious concerns about the health of your baby.

We hope you find this article of use.

In our next article we will be talking to you about Baby Bedding and Baby Gro

We thought we should now go on to help you new mums and dads out a bit with regard to starting your baby onto solid foods. By the time they reach 4 – 5 months old ( every baby is slightly different ) they will need to be weaned onto solids. Cow and Gate is one of the best top brands out there on the market today. They have such a huge selection to choose from, and everything is packed with really good ingredients that will help your baby grow up strong and healthy. Heating the food through is easy, and quick and Cow and Gate seem to have thought of just about everything your baby will need.

There are tons of other brands out there or you could buy a supermarkets own brand, especially if money is tight, as it is for most of us at the moment.

Some new mums and dads prefer to do it themselves. If you cook some meat and vegetables and potatoes and then put them through a blender, you will get the same sort of result. It is a lot more work, but the outcome is just the same. Tasty food for baby that will help it to grow up big and strong.

Once your little one is starting to get the hang of things don’t forget to introduce fruit juice to drink as well as milk, and something hard to chew on to help those milk teeth to come through. (Which will mean less sleepless nights for both mum and dad ) and a happier baby to boot.

We hope you find this section useful. We will be back with lots more tips and advice soon

There has been a lot in the press recently about the stress that buggies can give to babies that lead into later life…

We thought just in case you had missed this relevant article we should tell you about it. There has been a case study done recently by a University Professor and on her findings when purchasing a new buggy or pram for your baby, it is vital that you make sure that baby is facing you all the time. Apparantly if you have one where the baby is facing away from you when you are pushing it, your little one becomes distressed. Since the moment you conceived it has been with you. When it is born you hold and cuddle it and talk to it and if baby cries you go to it and hold it. If you put your baby in a forward facing buggy then they can’t see you. If you are in a busy high street or road they can’t hear you and this apparantly sresses them out!

Make sure you can keep eye contact with them, talk to them, NEVER purchase a buggy or pram that faces away from you. The professor is trying to make all manufacturers discontinue the other type and stick to this idea only. She wants the other type taken off of the market.

Apparantly babies that were pushed in buggies years ago that faced away from mummy very often turn into anxious and more stressed out people. Generally they tend to be more of a worrying type of person – and we are sure that is not what any parent wants for their child later in life.

We hope that you find this advice of some use – especially if you are new mum and dad to be ( you need all the advice and help you can get! )

We will be discussing with you the topic of Baby Bedding and Baby Gift Sets next time.

Now that baby has arrived and the routine of sleepless nights and feeds etc is well established we would like to move on to the next phase of you and your babies life. Plenty of fresh air for both mum and baby is recommended and light exercise for mummy is needed.

Remember to try and eat as healthily as possble, don’t neglect yourself too much. Everyone is counting on the new mum.

Always get you baby immunized at regular intervals. Always check with your Doctor if anything is troubling you.

Hopefully by now you will be enjoying of your time with your new precious little arrival. After the very first few weeks of babies life it starts to get really interesting. Give you little one plenty of things to amuse them. Bright and colourful, always being mindful to make sure all toys etc. are very safe and the right age. Sounds are also something that baby will like. Introduce things slowly, not all at once so they are overwhelmed.

At that special time between mum and baby known as feeding you want to really make a special bond. Talk to your baby as much as possible in a soothing and calming way – even though they don’t understand a thing you say it is very soothing to hear your voice. Sing to them if that is something that suits you.

Remember, this time is very special. It will never come round again. Dads will connect with baby in a totally different way this is your time.

Back again soon with we hope more tips that you find helpful.

We will talk again about Baby Clothes, Baby Gowns and Baby Gift Sets.

We here at Baby2You have created the Advice Tips page to help new mums and dads on all aspects of parenting. Like everything around us the world is constantly changing and the way baby is brought up is different now to years ago. We are so lucky in todays world to have so many modern things to help us with life.

So to business. The topic is Bathing Baby. When you are Bathing your precious wriggly little arrival we recommend you use a Hooded Towel in the Bathroom to wrap your little bundle up in. They are usually of a sqaure shape with a triangle in one corner probably with a design on.

They should be made of soft cotton.

A good tip is to warm the towel on a radiator before bathing baby so it is nice and warm.

One word of caution. Never leave Baby in the Bath tub unattended. Never Never do that……

Remember before you attempt to bring baby into the bathroom to gather together everything you will need and put it in their before you pick up baby. You will need talcum power baby oil baby moisuriser nappies cotton wool tips for its ears shampoo etc. Look around make sure you have everything and then enjoy your special time with your little one.

We will be writing more advice and tips for you to follow in the following days and weeks ahead.

Baby Bedding, Baby Gowns and Baby Clothes are next.

See you soon.

Once you bring baby home from the hospital your problems really begin. Now we do not want to ruin the most precious gift of all – a baby but did you know that Newborn Babies sleep for appoximately 17 hours a day.. Even if it is only in short bursts.

The loss of sleep is probably the hardest thing for new parents to cope with. Hopwever it is not all bad news.

Establish a routine as quickly as possible. As you begin to bond with your new arrival you will notice that she displays certain behaviours as to when she is tired or hungry etc. Soon it will not be long before you understand her and she will settle more easily and so will you.

Don’t be afraid to get as much help as possible in the first few weeks. You don’t have to do everything yourself. Try to share as many domestic duties like cooking and cleaning with your partner or any other family member who is willing to chip in.

We do recomment Breast Feeding your new baby, but if you can’t or simply do not want to then that is no problem.

Try not to forget about yourself. Try to eat healthily and take a little exercise each day. At the moment everything revolves around baby, but you are most important to, don’t forget that.

However if you feel that you are not coping well you should always chat to your health visitor or GP. They will be more than willing to offer you advice, after all that is what they are there for.

baby gowns and baby bedding nexttime.

Talk to you soon

Take care
