Advice for New Mums
We would like to take this opportunity to talk to you about something that is in the press at the moment. The subject unfortunately is the Measles. It goes without saying that you will be seeing your Doctor and Nurse quite often for the first few years of your little one’s life.. Obviously you will be kept informed when it is time for them to have their jabs. The rise in childrens illness is very important.
We cannot stress enough that all new mums and dads should have their children immunised at the correct stage in their lives. If you are not comfortable with having the MMR jab – then obviously you should talk this over with your GP. However, it is entirely your decision, but we strongly advise that you have your child vaccinated - perhaps you would prefer to do it singly with regard to measles, mumps and rubella but you really should have the jabs.
The last thing any parent wants to see is their child suffering, and some of these illnesses can be very nasty. Not every child takes them lightly. It is especially important for a baby – it would be no joke if a child under 1 year caught any of these illnesses.
We hope you have found this advice helpful – always ask your GP if you are worried or concerned about anything to do with the health of your baby.
In our next chapter we will be talking to you about Baby Clothes.
