Advice for New Dads

When a couple are expecting most people’s thoughts turn to the women who is pregnant. Now although we totally get that, no one bothers to give any thought to the other person involved in this – the man.

It takes too – remember….

Her hormones are all over the place, and usually the guy doesn’t have a clue what to do, one minute she is weepy and the next angry and the next possibly feeling unwell, so as her loving other the man has a difficult role to play.

He may well have been to work and had a rough day himself and when he comes home he hasn’t the slightest idea what to expect or quite possibly how to handle it.

When the birth and the baby come along it is just as new and wonderful to him as it is to her, plus he is expected to pay for everything and to understand and be there for now both her and the baby – no-one could possibly say that being the significant other half is easy.

Having a baby is the most wonderful thing in the world, but especially if this is your first it can be a lovely but trying time, and a new road for both of you to try and negotiate.
