Advice for Dads

This section is only for Dads. Everyone thinks about the mum to be or the new mum and we all forget just how important the dad is. Well not with us….

If your partner or wife is expecting then you are probably in the firing line lads for all the hormones that are going all over the place. Don’t get caught ever saying those immortal words ” when the baby comes along it’s not going to change us is it?” .  Bad idea…

Not only do you not know or understand your other half’s mood swings and food cravings, tempers and tears. Her physical appearance is going to take a little change, but your pocket is going to be hit hard as well.

This is a wonderful and confusing time to say the least.

You probably won’t know the right things to do or say, but all men feel this way – you are all in the same boat.

When your little one comes into the world she will calm down – promise! and everything will be worth it. When you hold in your arms for the first time the most beautiful human being in the world your baby, the human being you created with the person you love the most in the world you will see it will be worth it….

As regards the expense, we cannot help you with this problem. Fact babies cost money, and then when they grow up children cost money, and they will continue to do so for the rest of their lives, but the love you will get back and fun and happy times make up for the big dent in  your wallet.

The advice we would give to impending dads or new dads is be patient, it will all fall into place given time.

As for you, you have no one to lean on except hopefully a dad of your own, or a brother or mother or sister or other family member. Everyone will give you lots of advice, but first hand knowledge just can’t be beaten.

Have fun with your little one, enjoy the precious moments, you will find they grow up so fast – that is the only advice we can give you.
